According to a Media Release from the Guyana Football Federation, the training will cater for approximately twenty-six (26) participants from across the nine Member Associations of the GFF and will be held daily from 09:00 to 17:00h. According to Technical Director, Ian Greenwood, the purpose of the staff training event is twofold, according to the release.
“First, it will serve to up-skill selected coaches who have recently completed either the
CONCACAF D. and/or GFF D. License Course. This will be based on the new GFF Technical
Department’s national playing and coach philosophy as we strive to overhaul, improve and professionalize football on a national level. Secondly, we are assessing the coaches on the course to recruit a brand new workforce of Technical Development Officers (TDOs) and GFF Youth
Coaches in all nine Member Associations.”
The programme will be both theoretical and practical in nature and will be facilitated by
Greenwood and Lyndon France, GFF’s Technical Development Officer (TDO).
