An engrossing fistic fury is expected between bantamweight elite boxers Keevin Allicock and Clairmont Gibson when the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) in collaboration with Briso Promotions stages one night of sizzling action, dubbed ‘Sons of Champions’ at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue, on December 26.
It will be a rematch of the National championships and former champion Gibson has openly declared war on his marque when the organisers held a press briefing on Saturday at the Windjammer International Hotel.
“It is going to be another World War,” the Guyana Defence Force boxer stated who also revealed he has been involved non-step intense training ahead of the mega bout.

Throwing the punches at him, is Commonwealth Youth Games silver medallist Allicock who was more reserved on his plans but said he is focused ahead of the bout.
“I am prepared and well-focused and ready for anything that comes and I want to give the audience something they will want to come again and see,” the 18 year-old expressed.
Meanwhile, GBA Technical Director Terrence Poole revealed that the highly anticipated middleweight bout between Desmond Amsterdam and Policeman Dennis Thomas will not happen since the latter opted not fight.
The battle had many pundits undecided as to a winner since both have held victory over each other. However, Amsterdam will still take the ring but against Alloco Best.
Poole also urged fans to come out in their numbers since a high quality card is expected and they will be making steadfast attempts to return the event an annual occurrence. Poole also felt the event gives the boxers a golden opportunity to be involved in intense competition ahead of what is expected to be a busy 2018.
Additionally, in the first clash of the night junior boxer Shamar Morrison of the Forgotten Youth Foundation (FYF) will match gloves with Emanuel Pompey for one bout before Shaquincy Wright of the Vergenoegen Boxing Gym (VBG) face K. Yayah of the Pocket Rocket Boxing Gym (PRBG). Exciting flyweight pugilist Julius Kesney of the Rose Hall Jammers (RHJ) will tackle Kelvin Moore (VBG) in an elite flyweight contest. Junior boxers, Travis Inverary (FYF) and Jaden Graham of the Young Achievers (YA) will next grace the ring in a fight that is much talked about. Both boxers have earned the right to be touted as top boxers and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
GDF representative Colin “Superman” Lewis has made quite a name for his self and recently returned from St Lucia with a gold medal in the Caribbean Development Tournament. He will be in top shape and rearing to square off with Marlon Darryl (FYF) in a junior welterweight elite matchup.
Two GDF representatives, Aubrey Headley and John Mars, will oppose each other in a contest for bragging rights as well as championship honours while Alex Murray (FYF) will attempt to keep the (Andrew) Murray legacy alive when he squares off with Akeem Crandon of the Pocket Rocket Boxing Gym.
The card will also include two female bouts which will see Alicia Rodney, from the newly inaugurated Savannah Boxing Gym (SBG) clash with Abiola Jackman (FYF). Aleema Arokium (RHJ) takes on Army representative Joan Williams in a female elite flyweight battle. Gates will open at 18:00h and organisers further emphasised the first gloves will touch at 19:00h.
