GOGEC, Canadian High Commissioner discuss trade, investment
President of the Guyana Oil and Gas Energy Chamber (GOGEC), Manniram Prashad, has met with Canadian High Commissioner Mark Berman at the GOGEC Office to discuss several matters of trade and investment.
The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Jake Thomas, Senior Trade Commissioner, while the GOGEC team included Vice President Luanna Persaud and Directors Desmond Sears and Joel Bhagwandin.
In a release, GOGEC has said that Guyana will be on the agenda when trade missions resume visiting the region.
The areas discussed included the strengthening of ties between the Private Sectors of Canada and Guyana, and ideas to assist GOGEC with training through future collaborations.
The High Commission of Canada and GOGEC, the release said, will work together to widen the scope of existing partnership agreements with associations in the Newfoundland, Canada with the aim of engaging other Canadian business.
Both parties also agreed to work together to increase potential partnerships through future trade missions.
GOGEC has requested assistance for its Training Centre, and the High Commissioner visited the facilities and responded positively, the release noted.
