Students of 8th of May, Abram Zuil, Anna Regina, Aurora, Charity, Cotton Field, Johanna Cecilia and Wakapao Secondary Schools benefited from an oil and gas seminar hosted by the Guyana Oil and Gas Energy Chamber (GOGEC).
The students were addressed by senior staff of the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company, Atlantic Ventures Group, Atlantic Alliance (AA) Maritime & Offshore Training Institute Inc, and Financial Analyst and Director of GOGEC Joel Bhagwandin.
The students were informed about the various types of training programmes available for persons who would like to work in the maritime & oil and gas sector.
In addition, they were briefed on the careers in the oil and gas operations with respect to the floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels, drill ships and service vessels. The students were also given an overview of the sector from an economic perspective.
