GOGEC hosts seminar for students of Cummings Lodge Secondary School

The Guyana Oil and Gas Energy Chamber on Friday hosted a training seminar for the students of Cummings Lodge Secondary School at the GOGEC Training Centre.

The students were addressed by GOGEC President Manniram Prashad and Home Affairs Minister Robeson Benn, who are both graduates of Cummings Lodge Secondary School.
The students were also addressed by the Commissioner of Police, Clifton Hicken; General Manager of SBM Offshore Guyana, Martin Cheong; Denis Chabrol from Demerara Waves and CEO of GTT Damian Blackburn, who all gave motivational talks to the students.
The Managing Director of HHSL Safety System Guyana, Herman Vieira outlined the various job opportunities that exist in the oil and gas sector while Financial Analyst Joel Bhagwandin explained the oil and gas sector from an economic point of view.
The students were presented with their certificate of attendance by President of the Linden Chamber of Commerce Victor Fernandes.
GOGEC has thus far conducted training for the following schools: Annandale Secondary, Apex Education, Christ Church, The Bishops’ High School, St John’s College, St Joseph High, St Stanislaus, Brickdam Secondary, North G/town Secondary, St George’s High School, and Charlestown Secondary.
