A gold miner of Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), who was arrested on Saturday, has been charged in connection with a possession of ammunition without licence offence. Deoraj Jaggernauth appeared in court on Monday before Tariq Mohamed at the Bartica Magistrates’ Court where the charge of Possession of Ammunition without Licence, Contrary to Section 62(2)(a) of the Firearm Act Chapter 16:05 was read to him.
The 35-year-old man denied the offence and was released on $100,000 bail. The case will continue on January 26, 2026.
