Following up Trinidad’s 9-0 mauling of Barbados on Friday night, the Golden Jaguars sent home five unanswered goals to go up in the tournament.
Quincy Adams opened the scoring for the local boys in the 11th minute followed by a Pernell Schultz goal in the 37th. Teenage sensation Omari Glasgow added his name to the score sheet soon after, with a 41st minute goal, to bring Guyana’s tally to three at the half.
Three minutes into the second segment, Guyana were lucky enough to pick up a penalty opportunity which was taken by the experienced Neil Danns. Danns made no mistake, as the score raced to 4-0. Glasgow returned in the 61st minute to complete his brace with another goal, resulting in Guyana’s 5-0 victory.
The tournament decider will come on Tuesday, March 29, as Guyana take on Trinidad and Tobago.
