Despite a spirited first half effort, Guyana’s Golden jaguars lost 2-1 to Indonesia in their international friendly on Friday in Jakarta.
It was a brace by Ilija Spasojevic that left the Guyanese heartbroken on their historic trip to South Asia.
Shaquille Agard opened the scores with a right footed shot from inside the 18 –yard box to the centre of the goal in the 9th minute. Jaguars kept on the attack with some spirited runs at goals but could not find produce another conversion.
A handball by captain Jake Newton then saw the home side ease their way back into the match as Spasojevic scored the penalty in the 35th minute. Spasojevic then had right footed shot to the top left after he was Assisted by Febri Haryadi in the 75th
Guyana’s lost came after 1-1 draw against Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors just last weekend at the Ato Bolton Stadium.
