Good outing for Yadram as Edwards XI win in Volcanoes practice game

The Regional Super50 tournament is just around the corner and the Windward Islands Volcanoes have started their preparations.

Emmanuel Stewart and Bhaskar Yadram have played for West Indies Under-19 together and will turn out for the Volcanoes

In the first of a series of practice games hosted by the Windward Volcanoes played at the Grenada National Cricket Stadium on Monday last between a Kirk Edwards XI versus a Sunil Ambris XI, Guyanese Bhaskar Yadram had a decent day, top-scoring with 49 for Ambris XI and picking up 1-39.
Edwards XI won the toss and decided to take first strike in a match, which was reduced to 30 overs per side. Edwards XI racked up 255 for 2 in their 30 overs, with Devon Smith not out on 132, which contained 11 fours and nine sixes. Desron Maloney made 69 (four fours and three sixes) and Emmanuel Stewart remained not out on 26. Kirk Edwards made 12. Bowling for Ambris XI, Yadram took 1 for 31, and Kem Charles 1 for 48, with extras totalling 16.
Ambris XI were dismissed for 151 in 28.4 overs, to give Edwards XI victory by 104 runs. Yadram top-scored with 49, which contained three fours and three sixes while Ambris made 43, hitting six fours. The next best score was 11 apiece by Alick Athanaze and Keon George, with extras contributing eight. The second practice game was scheduled for Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the Grenada National Cricket Stadium.
