Following a commitment by President Dr Irfaan Ali, when he led a Cabinet Outreach to Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice), where he committed to address several housing issues in the region, Attorney General and Legal Affairs Minister, Anil Nandlall met with Housing and Water Ministers Collin Croal and Susan Rodrigues on Monday.
The meeting served to address issues and provide clarity in the exercise of ensuring the identified lands are transferred from the National Industrial and Commercial Investments Limited (NICIL) to the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA) to regularise and allot house lots and certificates of titles to residents of Region 10.
NICIL currently holds the title for the lands in question and the Attorney General is keen on ensuring any legal hurdle is cleared and the process is addressed in a timely manner.
