GPA mourns passing of former Guyana Chronicle Editor

The Guyana Press Association (GPA) extends condolences to the family and friends of Claudette Earle, who passed away on Tuesday.

Claudette Earle

Earle retired from the Guyana Chronicle in 2005, where she was Editor, after serving at the newspaper for decades.
She reportedly started her career at Guiana Graphic, her son, Yohann stated on Tuesday. She was the Sunday Editor, and edited the women’s page along with the Sunday Magazine.
Described as fiercely independent, Earle was a lover of books and believed in women’s equality, Yohann said as he pointed out that she promoted stories on women entrepreneurship, farming, and leadership.
She would be remembered for her passion in journalism, her advocacy for journalism training, and her guidance to her younger colleagues.
