GPF, business community partner to bring relief to St Cuthbert’s Mission
The Guyana Police Force Regional Division 4 C in collaboration with members of the business community on Saturday last handed over a total of 100 food hampers to be distributed to residents of St Cuthbert’s Mission, Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica).
The items were handed over by Commander of Region 4 C, Senior Superintendent Khali Pareshram to Toshao of the Amerindian Reservation, Beverly Clenkan and Regional Councillor Pierre Andrews.
The Commander, during the handing over, noted that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which affected more than 208 persons of the community, a decision was taken to collaborate with the business community to provide assistance to the community which is currently on lockdown.
“The community is currently on lockdown, there is a joint service operation carrying out Operation COVI-CURB, everyone is in home isolation and hence there is a restriction on movements to and from the village, with that we’ve decided that we will assist” the Commander noted.
Also at the handing over were Division Welfare Officer, Assistant Superintendent Shevon Jupiter; Sub-Divisional Officer, Assistant Superintendent Alli and other ranks of the Division.
The businesses which assisted in the initiative were A&S General Contractors Inc, GSK Excavating Services, Choke Service Station, Panko Fabrication, Imran Ally & Sons General Hardware and P Ramroop & Sons.
The administration of the Force expressed gratitude to the businesses and encouraged others to come on board as the country combats the dreaded virus.
