GPF rewards 215 top-performing children of Police Officers

Some 215 children of serving members of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) were rewarded for their outstanding performances at the 2026 National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA), when the force hosted its Annual Bursary Awards on Friday.
Held under the theme “Investing in Education, Inspiring Success”, the ceremony was Chaired by Assistant Superintendent Lynch-Davis, and celebrated the accomplishments of the students as they prepare to enter secondary school.
During the opening ceremony, Deputy Commissioner (Administration), Ravindradat Budhram, encouraged the students to remain disciplined, committed, and diligent in their education.

He also spoke about the sacrifices made by their parents in the execution of their duties, and reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to supporting the educational development of their children through bursaries and other opportunities.
Delivering the keynote address, Education Minister Sonia Parag commended the GPF for prioritising the welfare of its members and their children.
As the students prepare to transition into secondary school, Minister Parag encouraged them to remain resilient and to view challenges as opportunities for growth.
In addition, she congratulated the students and their parents and encouraged the awardees to make full use of the opportunities available to them, and work towards becoming positive contributors to their communities and country.
