Dear Editor,
The old and tired reason of “electricity theft” is again being proffered by the Guyana Power and Light Inc as an excuse for its inability to offer a salary increase. It would appear the 2020 increase made in 2021 is all the company is prepared to offer at this time.
Is the company doing all it can and exploring all ways and means to make an offer, or is it a done deal, and the employees are left to become collateral damage because of theft and vandalism, age-old complaints which successive administrations of the company have not been able to tackle with any degree of achievement?
