Home News GPS, GFS announce promotions for junior ranks
Home Affairs Minister Robeson Benn has approved the promotion of 25 junior ranks of the Guyana Prison Service (GPS) and 248 from the Guyana Fire Service (GFS).
The promotions for the GPS include three Chief Prison Officers, seven Principal Prison Officers II, two Prison Trade Instructors and one Principal Prison Officer I.
With respect to the Fire Service, the promotions include 40 Sub Officers, 61 Section Leaders, and 147 Leading Fire Officers.
Minister Benn extends congratulations to all ranks who were promoted and continued to urge improved professional performance and better participation to achieve a diverse workforce. He is also encouraging them to stay true to their mandate and strive to provide better service to the citizenry and to the country.
The approved promotions are effective from January 1, 2022.
