Self-Reliance Workshops
First Lady Sandra Granger attended the launch of a greenhouse project, which is being spearheaded by the Green Life Floral Co-op Society, established by a group of graduates of the 16th Self-Reliance and Success in Business Workshop. The opening ceremony was held at the Cummings Park Multi-Purpose Centre, Sophia.
The First Lady, in her remarks, said that it was always a joyous occasion to witness a success story materialising from workshops facilitated by her office and commended the Co-op Society for facilitating the process. She also informed the gathering of her intention to facilitate more workshops in the Cummings Lodge community. “I am very happy to see Green Life Floral Co-op Society beginning to mobilise … because it is not just a nursery and a greenhouse, but you are also looking at sustainable livelihood…,” the First Lady is quoted by the Department of Public Information (DPI) as saying.
The First Lady also thanked the Social Protection Ministry, for the continued support of the Self-Reliance and Success in Business Workshops and for supporting the development of the Green Life Floral Co-op Society Green House project through the Sustainable Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development (SLED) Project.
