Grahams Hall Primary boys and girls teams won their respective games in the Georgetown Zone
of the Department of Sport National Sports Commission (NSC) 50 Shades of Games and AL Sport and Tour Promotions 19th Annual Primary Schools Windball Cricket Champions when the competition was played recently at the National Gymnasium.
Grahams Hall boys won the toss and asked St Ambrose Primary to bat first. St. Ambrose managed 31-4 off the allotted five overs with Akalem Griffith top scoring with 11 while Jeremiah Letch grabbed 2-0 bowling for Grahams Hall.
In reply, Grahams Hall reached 35-2 with Anthony Geer making 15 and Josiah Grootffan 19.
When the girls took the field they blasted a record 109-2 from their five overs playing against St Ambrose girls. Sarena Razak made 35 and Akeila Hayles 24 while extras contributed a healthy 33.St Ambrose girls in reply were restricted to 63-2, with Alicia Felix hitting 24.
In other scores: Sophia Primary girls made 46-5 from their five overs playing against Saint Angela’s Primary. Reshanna La Rose top scored with 12. Bowling for St Angela’s Shandy Davis took 3-23.
In their turn in the middle, St Angela’s reached their target 50-1, with Davis coming back with the bat to score 40 (4×6, 4 x 4).
Bel Air Primary girls surrendered to Winfer Gardens in their match. Being invited to bat first, Winfer Gardens made 30-0 thanks to Tiffany Barrow who carried her bat for 18.
In reply, Winfer Gardens who after an absence from the competition of more than 10 years reached 33-4. Bowling for Bel Air, Chrystal Joseph took 2 wickets for 4 runs.
The competition resumes today at the same venue from 10:00 hrs.
