Grasstrack championship for Anna Regina

Essequibians and grasstrack fans from around Guyana can expect to be treated to racing of a high quality come July 22, when the third round of 2017 grass championship is staged at the Anna Regina Community Centre ground in Region Two.
The competition will be hosted under floodlights and current competitors will attempt to equal and surpass the standards left by former stalwarts such as Nikki Ramsarran, Mahase `Track Bully’ Premsukh, Sheik Yassen and Terry `Killer’ Miller to name a few.
Riders who won races in the previous rounds will compete in 10 events. The host county will be represented by Kennard Spellen, Kenrick Spellen and Fiyaz Kassim all of whom expressed confidence of turning in good performances. The Spellens were sponsored by Raman and Ganesh Mining Enterprise located at Middlesex on the Essequibo Coast which provided the motor cycles.
In the previous novice races, Essequibo copped two second place finishes and one third while in the professional races they secured one first, two seconds and one third.
Other sponsors of the event are: Rooster Bottled Coconut Water, Riyadh Khan (AutoZone) and Trophy Stall of Bourda Market. Gates of the Anna Regina Community Centre ground will open at 4 pm. (Indrawattie Natram)
