Greaves elated to be back in the Jaguars’ camp

Fruta Conquerors midfielder Jahaal Greaves is elated to be back in Guyana’s National Football team set up for the Golden Jaguars much anticipated match against Canada’s Olympic Football team on Sunday at the National Stadium, Providence.
In an interview with Guyana Times Sport on Thursday, attacking mid-fielder in the most humble manner expressed his joy over being able to return to national colours after last playing at the under-23 level.
“I have been performing well in the Elite league, I think I deserved to be back in the team but just got to continue working hard because there are a lot of good players in the team, so I got work hard and attempt to impress the coach to hopefully get a chance to play Sunday,” Greaves explained.

been two key components to Fruta Conquerors exceptional performances in the Finale stage of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Stag Elite League and also have put them (Fruta Conquerors) on the verge of the momentous Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) qualification.
A vital aspect for any footballer is being able to understand their own style of play if they seek to achieve a level of consistency in their performances, and Agard explained that he is well aware of the role he offers to the team.
“I understand my game; I understand the aspect of playing both in the defensive and attacking functions; the coach had me playing as a forward in matches because of my ability to play physical and also to “head” the ball etc, which help me score goals”, the player explained.
His Tucville based team, finished fourth on the table last in the Genesis stage of the League but have only lost two matches and had draw this season which allows them to sit firmly in second place in the finale stage.
Quizzed as to the insight behind the improvement of fortunes of his team, he said “the chemistry helped, everyone glued with everyone, we are all happy to go out and play football and just to win and also trying to get our team to go CFU [Caribbean Football Union] but really just about the happiness.
The major test of his career will certainly be against the Canadians and the player voiced that he is not holding back anything and is looking to give it is his all come Sunday.
“I’m just looking to play hard, give it my all, play what the coach wants, keep it simple and also play for the team and just make sure i do my part correctly”, Greaves stated.
