Green Machine intensify prep for Americas Rugby Challenge

The Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) selectors will be announcing the final squad to represent Guyana at the Americas Rugby Challenge in Colombia within the new week. This was disclosed by Head Coach Grant Stuarte at a training session on Wednesday afternoon.
With just days to go before the team depart for the Challenge series, the training squad has stepped up its preparations with a trial session among the players at Parade Ground in the city, as a playing venue remains a big challenge for the Union.
According to the Head Coach, the players’ fitness is not the question at the moment, but getting them to gel and understand the system is the focus.
He, however, is confident the players will get it right in time.
The Green Machine, Guyana’s national rugby team, will participate in the Americas Rugby Challenge series for the first time and will be competing against countries such as Mexico, Colombia, and Paraguay in the 15s format of the game.
This will be a great test for the Caribbean side who are yet to dominate at this format regionally.
