…McArthur retained as Captain
The Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) has announced a 23-man Green Machine squad for its Rugby Americas North (RAN) Tier 2 15s encounter against Barbados on Saturday, June 6 at the Garrison Savannah in Bridgetown.
The squad was selected following two weeks of preparation that included training sessions affected by inclement weather, practice matches and a series of demanding fitness workouts as the national team intensified preparations for the regional fixture.

Leading the squad is Captain Rondel McArthur, who will be joined by Makaya Smith, Osbert Robinson, Christian Klass, James Osbourne, Shawn David, Lionel Holder, Phibian Joseph, Vallon Adams, Jamal Junor, Godfrey Broomes, Tyrese Prescod, Owen Adonis, Godfrey Pollydore, Rickford Cummings, Gavin McPherson, Michael Edwards, Akino James, Odida Douglas, Sebastian Manifile, Renaldo Niles, Kevin Braithwaite and Julius Jardine.
The upcoming match presents an opportunity for Guyana to secure its first victory of the season after opening its campaign with a 9-5 defeat to Bermuda on April 25 at the National Park in Georgetown.
However, they are coming up against a formidable Bajan side, who thrashed St Vincent and the Grenadines on Saturday, May 30, winning by a mammoth 63-0.
Guyana will now shift their focus to the final stages of preparation before departing for Barbados, where the Green Machine will look to produce a strong performance against the hosts in the RAN Tier 2 contest.
