Greene, Correia crowned champions of Sudesh “Kerry” Fitzgerald tourney

Sherwin Greene and Mary Correia won their respective men’s and women’s categories of the Sudesh“Kerry” Fitzgerald Darts tournament. The tournament was hosted by Guyana Darts Association on Sunday to honour national men’s champion Sudesh“Kerry” Fitzgerald on his birth anniversary.
The event featured several of Guyana’s top players, who were very competitive for a shot of the various titles in the inaugural event.
The winners in respective categories were as follows: – Men’ Singles –first-Sherwin Greene; second –Luis Merlano-Ramirez, third – Anup Lachhman.
In the Ladies Singles – first– Mary Correia, second – Shondell Hyles, third – Rosita Hiralall.
Fitzgerald was prohibited from playing in the singles but collaborated with Mary Correia to win the the luck of the draw doubles on the back of an outstanding performance.
Luck of the Draw Doubles – first- Sudesh Fitzgerald and Mary Correia; second– Shondell Hyles and Bryan James, third – Luis Merlano-Ramirerz and Melissa Smartt.
Fulton won the team division followed by G.I. Joes and Victors in that order.
Team Game – Team Fulton first comprised of, C. Fulton, B. James, C. France S. Greene; second team-G.I. Joe comprise of S. Fitzgerald, P. Allen, N.Seetaram, J. Bhupan; third team Victors comprised of V. Chandro, R. Hiralallm S. Hyles, T. Joseph.
The highest checkout (91) was done by Adrian Damon. The most 180’s were made by Luis Merlano-Ramirez.
The sponsors for the Tournament were Bryan James, Terence Joseph, Edward Richmond, Lallchand Rambharose, Patrick Allen and Sudesh Fitzgerald.
