GRFU team land in Grenada ahead of Rugby World 7s

The National 7s team prior to its departure on Tuesday evening

A 12-member Guyanese Rugby 7s team, representing the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU), has landed in Grenada and has even had its first practice session ahead of the commencement of the Grenada Rugby World 7s tournament, scheduled for tomorrow, December 1.
The team will be led by Captain and experienced campaigner Jamal Angus, while Vallon Adams has assumed the role of Vice-Captain. The remainder of the team reads: Kelvin Grant, Scott Garraway, Tyrese Prescod, Akino James, Jonathon Garnett, Ronaldo Niles, Lionel Holder, Sean Phillips, Leon Cole and Godfrey Broomes.
For the likes of Grant, Garraway, James, Niles, Phillips and Cole, this is their first campaign with the National 7s team. Meanwhile, Garnett is a replacement for an injured Owen Adonis.
The team is being accompanied by Claudius Butts, Team Coach and former National player; and Ryan Dey, Team Manager and GRFU President.
The Guyanese 7s outfit are in Group A, with USA Atlantis, RFN UK, the UK/USA Misfits, and the Trinidad & Tobago Defence Force.
The tournament will be played across December 1st and 2nd at the Kirani James Athletics Stadium in St. George’s, Grenada.
