Former Guyana opening batsman Trevon Griffith now plying his trade in Jamaica as part of the Cricket West Indies franchise system recently hit a stoked-filled century in the Jamaica Scorpions only practice match ahead their clash against Guyana Jaguars this Friday at Sabina Park.
Griffith playing for Paul Palmer’s XI in the three-day encounter against Chadwick Walton’s XI at the Chedwin Park ground, Spanish Town, Jamaica, stroked 143 from 205 balls, hitting 14 fours and two maximums, in his instrumental innings since his team was dismissed for 347.
Danza Hyatt (61) and Shacaya Thomas (53) were also among the runs; left-arm wrist spinner Dennis Bulli was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 9 for 131 from 38 overs.
Walton’s XI, who in reply reached 309 for 6 with Walton hitting 169 and West Indies Test Batsman Jermaine Blackwood making 56.
