The ceremony was held on Saturday at the Diamond Community Centre and saw parents, residents and officials from the NDC gathered to recognise the efforts of those students.
The event was organised by Councillor and Head of the Sports and Education Committee of the NDC, Chattergoon Jadoopat, who said that the initiative was taken to highlight the efforts of the students and schools who worked hard to secure a spot at the top schools in the country.
He noted that the initiative also serves as an encouragement to the students to continue to strive for even greater accomplishments as they embark on their secondary education and beyond.
At the event, seven schools from the NDC were recognised and the two top students of each of those schools were awarded prizes. Also receiving a prize was Stefani Rafeek, who also secured a spot in the country’s top 100.
She also hails from the Grove/Diamond area. The Diamond/Grove NDC wished the students well in their future endeavours and also encouraged the schools and teachers to continue working towards success.
