GSA, GTI record wins in Tertiary/University Basketball League

The third week in the Tertiary/University Basketball League continued with much riveting action as many teams duked it out in bids for much-needed points.
In the first game, Guyana School of Agriculture (GSA) got the better of Port Mourant Training Centre, with both schools making their debut. They were led by their Captain and former National School Basketball Festival standout for President’s College, Jushawn Bailey, who bagged 40 points, in the 96-21 routing of Port Mourant Training Centre.

For Port Mourant Training Centre, Michael Jordan scored 12 points and Shaauan Lucas five in the loss.
In the second game, the Government Technical Institute (GTI) locked in the number one position by staying undefeated in three games with a hard-fought 82-78 win over arch-rivals Linden Technical Institute (LTI) . Leading the way for GTI were Royan Lewis (25 points, 7 rebounds); Rakin Mc Donald (20 points, 5 rebounds); Leron Thom (16 points) and Kobe Tappin (11 points).
For LTI, Damarcus Adams made 28 points, Shemar Savory 20 points, and Gaius George 12 points, but that was not enough to secure the win. LTI now face a must-win situation against an impressive GSA unit in their next game if they are to have any chance of securing a spot in the semi-finals.
