GTCPM emerge winners of Suriname invitational

Ancient County volleyball giants, GuySuCo Training Centre Port Mourant (GTC-PM) wrapped up a successful sporting trip to Nickerie, Suriname where they battled hosts; Spartan’s Volleyball Club from February 22 to 25.

various disciplines which included cricket and football. In the volleyball leg of the tour, GTCPM won on two nights game straight sets; 3-0, 3-0, 3-0.
At six-a-side football two teams representing the GTCPM advanced to finals after defeating the Nickerie six in a four team encounter. Primary goal scorers were Shamar Wilkie (3) and Shaquan Spencer (2).
The GTCPM 1 team, then won the finals of the 15/15 overs hard ball cricket match after winning the toss and racking up 141 for 9 wickets. Jermaine Pollard top scored with 38 and Devindra Latchman 18. In reply the Nickeri team could only muster 102 for 9. In the end, GTCPM was presented a trophy for their success, Sparta volleyball club being the premier organizer, were thanked for their invitation and organizing of the respective games. The hosts in return thanked Guysuco Training Centre for honoring their commitment and hoped that another event is hosted in the near future.
