GTT customer walks away with $500,000 as company wraps up Christmas promotion
The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT) on Tuesday pulled the curtain on its $30 million Christmas promotion which saw Geeta Samaroo walking away with $500,000 in cash. The event was held at the company’s 55 Brickdam, Georgetown location.
Six other customers walked away with cash and other prizes. At the final drawing, $500,000, $400,000, and $300,000 cash prizes were up for grabs along with three $50,000 food vouchers, and two smart television sets.
However, Samaroo, who copped the grand prize, explained that she did not expect to win the cash and as such, she does not have any immediate plans to use it while noting that she will definitely put it to good use.
She praised GTT for giving back to its customers especially during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Cheddi Griffith, who showed much excitement over the event, and had wanted to take home the grand prize but ended up with one of the $50,000 food vouchers, stated that he has been a GTT customer for as long as he can remember.
Marketing Coordinator of GTT, Diangelly Singh reiterated that the promotion commenced in October last and its main focus was to give back to customers. She added that a total of $30 million in prizes were awarded to at least 50 customers throughout the promotion.
Nevertheless, Singh disclosed that customers can look forward to a few promotions in the coming week as the company gears up to celebrate its 31st anniversary.
GTT has established itself as a progressive full-service telephone company that continuously seeks to provide state-of-art technology in keeping with international standards to customers across Guyana.
