Scores of students who visited the GTT’s booth were previewed to demonstrations on the Fibre network, cable splicing, among other technical presentations.
GTT Fibre is an advanced Internet product with the best in-home Wi-Fi experience, built on Guyana’s largest and most reliable network.
Engineer Consultant at GTT, Nigel Beharrysingh, who delivered the presentations to the students said “this activity provided a useful opportunity to show Fibre Optic Cables and tools to students and to expose them to technology and innovation which GTT reliably provides.”
Calling it a ‘signature event’, during the opening ceremony, Chief Education Officer (CEO) of the MoE, Dr Marcel Hutson, explained that this exposition forms part of the Ministry’s goal to provide world-class exposure to technology in classrooms across Guyana.
“As we seek to advance as a nation, it is becoming clear that we are not void of resources…technology must be embraced, especially if we are thinking of modernization. We cannot afford to be left behind as the world is moving forward,” the CEO related.
The exposition also saw students from the Government Technical Institute (GTI) creating and displaying their creative coding and engineering solutions and learning material for everyday issues.
