Guinness ‘‘Greatest of the Streets’’ Berbice leg: Defending champions East Bank Gunners advance

Defending champions in the Berbice leg of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ football competition, East Bank Gunners, has advanced to the semifinals.
A hat trick by Kevin George helped the defending champions to secure a 3- 0 win over Young Strikers in their quarterfinal matchup on Saturday night at the New Amsterdam Basketball Court as action continued in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Shanny Campbell helped Manchester to needle Trini Gunners when the two teams met in their quarterfinal matchup.
Paradise squeezed past outsiders 1-0 to ensure they book a semifinal please while Ballers United after playing to a goalless score with Young Guns, advanced with a 2-1 win from the penalty spot.

The teams that failed to advance to the semifinals have a chance to claim the plate.
In the opening game in the plate playoff Trini Gunners gained a walk over from Young Strikers while Young Guns got pass Outsiders 2-1.
On Saturday Trini Gunners and Young Guns will battle for the plate at $60 000.
Also on Saturday, East Bank Gunners will take on Manchester in semifinal action and Paradise will take on Ballers United for a place in the finals.
At stake in the competition is $500,000 for the winter, $300,000 for the loosing finalist.
The third- place team will walk away with $200,000 and $100,000 will go to the fourth- place finisher.
