Hundreds of fans were treated to an exciting night of street football at the National Cultural Centre tarmac on Friday as Leopold Street clinched the Guinness “Greatest of the Streets” Georgetown Zone title, defeating Bent Street B 4–1 in a dominant final performance.
Entering the contest with strong momentum, Leopold Street displayed a balanced blend of youth and experience, controlling the tempo with sharp passing and constant attacking pressure. Their organisation at both ends of the court ensured that Bent Street B was kept largely contained, as Leopold converted their chances to seal a comfortable victory and secure the million-dollar winner’s purse.
Bent Street B, despite a commendable run to the final, had to settle for second place and a $400,000 prize. In the third-place playoff, Island All-Stars produced a disciplined showing to defeat New Bay Ballers (formerly Tiger Bay) 2–0 in a closely contested encounter. Island All-Stars earned $200,000 for their efforts, while New Bay Ballers received $100,000.

The plate segment also delivered competitive action. Festival City emerged as champions after edging Gold is Money 5–4 on sudden-death penalty kicks, following a 1–1 stalemate at the end of regulation and extra time. Their victory secured a $50,000 prize.
Earlier in the Plate semi-finals, Festival City booked their place in the final with a narrow 1–0 win over National All-Stars, while Gold is Money advanced emphatically by crushing Sparta Boss 4–0.
With the Georgetown title secured, Leopold Street has qualified for the Guinness “Greatest of the Streets” National Championships, scheduled for Friday, May 8, at the same venue. They will be joined by Bent Street B and Island All-Stars, who also advanced from the zone, and will compete against winners from Bartica, Linden, Berbice, West Demerara/East Bank and Essequibo.
