Gun-toting bandits robbed an engineer after trailing him from a commercial bank on Friday.
Reports are the 43-year-old man of Farm, East Bank Demerara (EBD), went to a commercial bank and deposited cash for his employer. After leaving the bank, he was tasked to meet a co-worker to pay him his wage. This publication was told that the engineer waited for some time at Diamond, EBD, but his coworker never showed and so he left for home. As he was parking his car at about 12:40h, three armed men rushed out of a car and whipped out handguns, demanding that he hand over his cash and other valuables.
Police were told that the man handed over $300,000 along with his two cellphones, valued $110,000, to the gunmen. The matter was reported to the police and the lawmen were able to review Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footage from the area. Police have since been able to identify the car used in the robbery.
