A Campbellville Housing Scheme, Georgetown, woman is now counting her losses after she was attacked and robbed by two gun-toting bandits after leaving a supermarket on Sheriff Street on Friday afternoon.
The 52-year-old was robbed at about 15:00h while heading East onto Fourth Street, Campbellville.
According to Police, the victim had just left a supermarket on Sheriff Street and headed East onto Fourth Street, Campbellville then turned onto Stone Avenue when she noticed two males on a bicycle ride up to her from behind and dismount.
One of them drew a black handgun from his pants waist and pointed it at her and demanded her handbag. In fear, the woman dropped the bag, and the perpetrators picked it up and escaped West along Forth Street.
The women’s handbag valued at $4500, contained her Galaxy J7 cellphone valued $75,000, $12,000 cash and documents.
The matter was reported to the Police and an investigation is in progress.
