Two gun-toting bandits robbed a security officer on Savage Street, North-East La Penitence, Georgetown on Friday at about 20:40h.
According to reports, the victim, O’Neal Hopkinson, 24, of Lot 294 Savage Street, North-East La Penitence, was walking east along Savage Street when he was approached by two males dressed in dark clothing. He observed that one of them was armed with a handgun, and so he began to run, but the two suspects managed to catch up with him.
They took away his wallet containing $7,000 that was in his right-side pants pocket, and his haversack, valued at $3,500, before making good their escape in a southerly direction.
The matter was reported to the Police, and the area was checked for the suspects, but there was no trace of the men.
Moreover, unsuccessful checks were made for CCTV cameras, in order to obtain video footage of the incident. Investigations are ongoing.
