Kaneville murder
The killer of Ishwar Ramanah, who succumbed days after he was shot by an armed bandit who had invaded his home, was on Friday allegedly identified.
The suspect, a 22-year-old of Diamond, East Bank Demerara, was arrested by ranks of “A” Division Police and placed on an Identification Parade, where he was positively identified as the man who had robbed, shot and killed Ramanah.
Ramanah, 30, called “Jack,” of 624 Macaw Drive, Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, was shot to his abdomen on December 13, 2017, when two armed bandits invaded his home just after midnight.
Guyana Times understands that the machine operator was attacked and relieved of a gold chain valued at some $40,000, then one of the perpetrators whipped out a firearm and shot Ramanah before the bandits made good their escape.
The injured man was taken to seek medical attention at a medical facility, and had undergone surgery. However, he succumbed to his injures one month after the incident.
The Police were able to recover a spent shell casing of a small calibre weapon at the crime scene. Charges are expected to be laid shortly.
