Two armed men on Sunday evening attacked and robbed a West Coast Demerara businessman and his wife as they were about to close their business.
Investigations revealed that at about 20:00h, Lennox Albert, 59, and his wife Verna Albert, 68, of Nouvelle Flanders Village, WCD were about to close their business when they were attached by two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm.
The men relieved the couple of $500,000 in cash, a quantity of colognes and a .32 pistol with five matching rounds of ammunition belonging to the businessman. The bandits then made good their escape on foot.
No one has as yet been arrested as Police continue their investigations.
