Gunmen storm Lime Street bar, rob owner, foreign national

A businesswoman and an overseas-based Guyanese are now left traumatised after they were both attacked and robbed by two armed men on Saturday at Lime Street, Werk-En-Rust, Georgetown.
The incident occurred at about 21:00h.
Police stated that Teshana Blake was attending to customers when she observed four men pull up on two motorcycles and stop in front of her place of business. At the time, the overseas-based Guyanese was in the building.
The victims reportedly told Police that the riders stayed on their respective bikes while the pillion riders, who were armed with handguns, barged into the business place and discharged several rounds. The men then demanded that they hand over their valuables.
Out of fear, the businesswoman ran to the back of the yard, leaving her money and two cellular phones behind.
The bandits made off with $400,000 in cash, one blue S9 Samsung phone and one white S10 Plus Samsung mobile phone.
The overseas-based Guyanese was robbed of one piece of gold jewellery. Blake reportedly operates a bar at the bottom flat of a building on Lime Street.
After the men made good their escape, the Police were summoned to the scene and an investigation was launched. No arrests were made.
