Gunmen storm Soesdyke Post Office

Two gunmen on Friday afternoon stormed the Soesdyke Post Office, held the post mistress at gunpoint, and made off with an undisclosed sum of cash from the vault.
The incident occurred at about 14:05h, while the Post Mistress was reportedly sitting alone at the facility checking off the
mail. She saw a man clad in a pair of camouflage pants and a shirt enter the building, and thinking it was a customer, she went to render assistance.
The man, however, whipped out a gun and pointed it at her, demanding that she open the door to give him access into the recesses of the building. Out of fear for her life, the post mistress complied with the request.
As the man made his way into the building, another armed man followed suit. Upon entry, the two armed men demanded that she hand over the money that was kept at the postal facility.
She opened a drawer, took out an undisclosed sum of cash, and handed it over to the men. Not satisfied, the gunmen instructed the woman to show them to the vault, and demanded that she open it. The men then removed the $135,000 that was kept in the secure area.
While the terrified woman was placed to lie on the ground and ordered not to raise an alarm, the men further ransacked the Post Office, collecting her mobile phone — valued $21,000 — and another $60,000 from another drawer before running out of the building and entering a blue motor vehicle which was parked a short distance away. They then sped away from the scene.
The Police were summoned, and an investigation has been launched.
