…Set for Bronze Medal Match at 2025 Junior Pan American Challenge
Guyana’s Junior Women’s Hockey Team delivered their most dominant attacking performance of the tournament in their final group-stage match against Trinidad & Tobago at the 2025 Junior Pan American Challenge. Despite controlling possession and applying relentless pressure in the Trinidadian half, Guyana secured a narrow 1-0 victory.

The breakthrough came early when striker Rebecca Ferreira capitalized on a defensive miscue, intercepting a pass between Trinidad & Tobago’s defenders. She drove into the circle and expertly slotted the ball between the goalkeeper’s legs to give Guyana the lead. Despite numerous scoring opportunities and sustained attacking pressure throughout the game, this remained the only goal of the match.
With this result, Guyana finishes the group stage in third place and will now face Trinidad & Tobago once again in the bronze medal match on Sunday, March 16, at 10:00hrs. The team will be looking to replicate their attacking intensity and finish the tournament on a high note.
