It was a day filled with lots of action as hundreds of karateka’s battled for top honours in their respective divisions at The Guyana Karate Federation 2019 Senior National Karate Championships held at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Sunday.
In the individual events coming out on top in the Female 14-17 Years – Kata were Jessica Callender and Aliyah Seeram in first and second positions respectively while in the Female 14-17 Years – Kumite emerging victorious were Jinell Abraham, Gabriella Khan and Jessica Callender.
In the Male 14-17 Years – Kata the top players were Shakeem Walcott, John Mcgrath and Michael Hing, in the Male 14-17 Years – Kumite -68 Kg the top performers were Shakeem Walcott, Luke Seabra and Shamar Francis while in the Male 14-17 Years – Kumite 68+ Kg the champions were Andes Roberts, John McGrath and Michael Hing.
