Guyana records 2 more COVID-19 related deaths

The Ministry of Health has revealed that as of 13:00h on Friday, September 04, 2020, Guyana recorded two additional coronavirus related deaths, taking the death toll to 46.

The latest victims are an 82-year-old female from Demerara/Mahaica (Region 4) and a 47-year-old woman from Barima/Waini (Region 1).

Only yesterday, the Ministry announced two Covid-19 related deaths, which took the death toll to 44.

Officials of the Ministry have contacted all relatives and persons to facilitate contact tracing and rapid assistance to everyone who may have been exposed to the now-dead persons.

The Ministry is also appealing to the general public to respect the confidentiality of the deceased and their families and to allow them to mourn their tragic loss in peace.

All Guyanese are reminded to observe the protocols of the COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES (NO. 9) which are in effect until September 30, 2020.
