Guyana Restaurant Week slated for June 25

Guyana Restaurant Week will commence on June 25 with a total of 20 restaurants participating, according to Trina Butts, Executive Director of the Tourism & Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG). The event will be officially launched on June 24, 2021.
The Guyana Restaurant Week (GRW) Organising Committee is encouraging patrons to follow the COVID-19 guidelines for outdoor dining while taking part in the event. Plans to extend the event were considered, but were placed on hold in light of the COVID-19 pandemic; and, as such, the event will remain in its original format of two events being held bi-annually, in June and November.
This event is geared to ensure small and medium-sized tourism enterprises can recommence their operations, rehire staff, and serve the Guyanese populace.
“Support the service return, the restart of indoor dining for a larger number of operations, and allow us to wow you, creating memorable foodie experiences,” Butts added.
The Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana is urging patrons to sanitise before entering the locations; maintain their social distance; and explore, eat and repeat.
