Guyana shines on international stage with strong showing across all divisions

After an intense competition featuring 258 games among 101 teams representing 17 countries and two non-national groups, Guyana proudly emerged with commendable results across multiple divisions, showcasing resilience, talent, and national pride.
Leading the charge was the Men’s Over-40 team, which secured an impressive bronze medal finish. Their third-place achievement stands as a testament to the squad’s experience, determination, and cohesion throughout the tournament.
The Women’s Over 40 team also delivered a strong performance, finishing fifth overall and demonstrating grit and competitive spirit against formidable international opponents.

Guyana Men’s Over 40 team

In other divisions, the Men’s Over 55 team claimed seventh place, while the Men’s Over 50 side battled to a respectable 10th-place finish, rounding out a solid overall campaign for the Golden Arrowhead.
Across all divisions, Guyana tallied an impressive 56 goals, highlighting the team’s attacking strength and depth. Leading the scoring charts was Jonathan Roberts with a remarkable 10 goals. Jeremy Roberts, who captained his side, and Philip Fernandes each contributed six goals, playing pivotal roles in Guyana’s offensive efforts.
Marisha Fernandes added five goals to the national tally, while Devin Hooper netted four. Alan Fernandes, another captain within the squad, along with Devin Munroe and Kevin Spencer, each recorded three goals.
Adding to the score sheet were Robert France, Kerensa Fernandes, Damon Woodroffe, and Dexter Wyles with two goals apiece. Single-goal contributors included David Asregado; captain Maria Atkinson-Munroe; Marvin Dannett; Sonia Gordon; Ahyodha Kishna; Ian Nicholson; Terence Solomon; and Orland Semple – each playing their part in Guyana’s collective success.
Beyond the statistics, the tournament reflected the unity and competitive spirit of Guyanese athletes competing on an international platform. Their achievements not only earned podium recognition but also reinforced Guyana’s growing presence and competitiveness in masters-level sport.
