Meanwhile, 20-year-old wheelman Jamaul John walked away with the
Federation’s top award for his hard work throughout the year as he racked up victories across the “Points” races to finish top of the table ahead of rivals Paul DeNobrega and Alanzo Ambrose among others.
David Hicks also received an award from the GCF for best junior cyclist while Briton John was recognised as the best juvenile wheelman.
Veteran cyclist Junior Niles also grabbed an award for the Over-45 category, while Warren “40” McKay received an award for his continued commitment to the sport.
National Cycling Coach Hassan Mohamed was also present, and his commitment and contributions to the sport of cycling were duly recognised with an award of his own.
Assistant Racing Secretary of the GCF, Joseph Britton, speaking during a short address, promised cyclists that in the new year they would no longer have to go around seeking sponsorship for trips overseas as the GCF is looking to have the necessary funds for such international meets readily available.
