The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) in collaboration with the Curacao Football Federation and the United States Virgin Islands Football Association have come to an agreement as it relates to their respective fixtures of the second round of the Scotiabank Men’s Caribbean Cup Championship.
This decision was made due to the unavailability of an appropriate venue in Guyana to host the matches and was agreed to by the two other Regional Associations and the Caribbean Football Union.
The Guyana National Stadium, the original venue of the games slated for Guyana, is unavailable for use due to an international cricket engagement. The National Track and Field Facility, Leonora, was considered as an option however, following a site visit by a team from the GFF, the venue will require a significant amount of work to ensure its readiness.
Guyana will play host Curacao on June 1 and host USVI on June 4, while Curacao and USVI will meet in Curacao on June 7.
