Guyana was represented at the event by reigning Miss India Guyana, Brittany Singh who was successful in placing in the top 10 and was awarded the Miss Photogenic prize.
In addition, for the time Guyana was also represented at the Mrs India Worldwide pageant by Samantha Singh who stunned the judges with her confident smile and was awarded the title of Mrs Beautiful Smile 2016.
Both ladies participated in various activities leading up to the grand finale including dinners, river tours and more importantly rigorous training sessions with Bollywood’s choreographer, Sandip Soppakr and international model, Alisha Raut.
Reports out of the United States revealed that the Guyanese beauties stood out throughout the week with their personalities, wardrobe and overall performance.
The trainers were also impressed with their knowledge of international pageantry and more so, their graciousness on the catwalk.
However, the contestants in the Mrs India Worldwide Pageant impressed the judges during the evening gown segment which was held on October 6, while on the same night Brittany took part on the talent competition in the Miss India Worldwide pageant.
Brittany’s wardrobe was a combination of designs from Derek Moore and Rishma Persaud. Her evening gown was designed by Jason Shurland while her Indian wear was done by Derek Moore. On the other hand, Samantha’s evening gown was designed by Randy Madray and Indian wear by Derek Moore.
The Miss India Guyana organisation wanted to change the trend of fashion for Guyana at Miss India Worldwide by showcasing its local designers and talent.
Meanwhile, the Miss India Worldwide title was won by Miss USA, Karina Koli, of Chicago while Namita Dodwadkar of New York copped the Mrs India Worldwide title.
