Guyanese business couple cop coveted awards

Powerhouse couple Evie Kanhai-Gurchuran and Miguel Gurchuran of Gurchuran Investments Inc (GII) recently received coveted awards of various merit in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the local business and social communities.
Miguel was awarded the Small Business Bureau’s Consulting Guru Small Businesses Award 2023. The annual award ceremony was recently held at Parc Rayne, where entrepreneurs gathered to celebrate the awardees for their exceptional contributions to the business community.

“I am honoured to have received this prestigious award from the Small Business Bureau. This significantly adds to the GII family in its establishment as a company focused on developing local businesses, its young entrepreneurs and those aspiring to take up such a mantle. I want to say congrats to all my colleagues who were also awarded for doing their part in developing our business community,” Miguel related.
Another award was added to GII’s list when Evie Gurchuran was awarded the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Guyana (WCCIG) 2023 Entrepreneurial Excellence Award by US Ambassador to Guyana, Nicole Theriot.
It was presented at the WCCIG’s 4th Annual Founders’ Dinner and Awards Ceremony recently held at the Mariott Hotel. Evie has previously received the GCCI’s Business Woman of the Year Award in 2022 and the National Youth Award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in 2019.
“It was truly an honour to be awarded with such a recognition by WCCIG. GII is posited to do its part in empowering women in leadership and those aspiring to be entrepreneurs, whether young or old. I want to also commend WCCIG for its role in shattering boundaries and creating new opportunities for women in business. GII will continue to create a sustainable impact in our country,” declared Evie.
