Guyanese busted with ganja at Jamaica’s airport

A Guyanese woman was busted with several pounds of compressed marijuana by Jamaican authorities at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA).

It was reported that the Jamaica Police on Monday evening disclosed that Michelle Ann Bamfield otherwise called “Blacka”, of Georgetown, Guyana arrived at the NMIA about 16:30h on Thursday and attempted to board a flight.
During security checks, her suitcase was searched and a false compartment containing the ganja, which weighed approximately eight pounds was found, the Jamaica Observer reported the Police to have said. The drug has an estimated street value of J$32,000. Bamfield, who was charged with Breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act, is scheduled to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Thursday.
