Guyanese convicted of cocaine smuggling arrested by ICE in New York

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency on Wednesday confirmed the arrest of Guyanese national William Narine outside his residence in Schenectady, New York, during a targeted immigration enforcement operation.
ICE stated that his arrest stemmed from his conviction for conspiring to smuggle cocaine into the United States.

Narine, along with his wife, Savitree; brother, David Narine; and sister-in-law, Susan, were all charged in 2003 with conspiracy to traffic in narcotics. William was sentenced to time served, and his wife was given a similar sentence in 2005.
Back in 2025, several Guyanese nationals were arrested in connection with a range of criminal convictions following the launch of a “Worst of the Worst” webpage, which displays information on criminal illegal immigrants arrested during the Trump Administration’s enforcement campaign.

Those arrested were Kwesi Menezes for aggravated assault on a Police Officer; Dwayne Waithe, convicted of illegal re-entry into the United States, possession of an illegal weapon, drug trafficking, and possession of marijuana with intent to sell; Mohamed Yusuf, convicted on charges related to prostitution and commercial sex activities; Rakesh Persaud, for kidnapping, robbery, and cruelty toward a child; Ronald Doodnauth, for assault involving a family member, assault, burglary, and cruelty toward a child; Harinarine Ramkissoon, convicted of homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol; Deon Watson, convicted of a sex offence involving a minor; and Vickram Moses, convicted of assault.
The page allows users to search for hundreds of thousands of criminal illegal immigrants who have been arrested across all 50 states. Many have criminal histories that include homicide, assault, rape, drug trafficking, child molestation, cruelty toward a child, battery, and armed robbery, among other crimes.
