Guyanese mother killed in Suriname crash

A 57-year-old Guyanese woman has died two days after she was involved in an accident in neighbouring country Suriname.
The woman was reportedly hit by a bus in Paramaribo, Suriname. Dead is Chaldrica Ramkissoon, who migrated to Suriname some 50 years ago.

Officials said the mother of six who lived in Pad Van Wanica, Suriname, was hit by a bus on Maagdenstraat in the centre of Paramaribo.
Following the report of the collision, Police from the Centrum Bureau visited the location. Upon their arrival, law enforcement officers found Chaldrica with serious head injuries on the road.
Guyana Times was informed that the bus was driving on the Maagdenstraat Road, and while making a right turn to Knuffelsgracht, it struck down the elderly woman who was crossing the road at the time.

She was picked up and taken by ambulance in critical condition to the Emergency Department of the Academic Hospital Paramaribo.
Chaldrica was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit due to her injuries and subsequently died.
